Scott Naylor - Amedia & Balbex

Scott discarded dreams of imitating the 80's shred Guitar heroes of Shrapnel Records & took up the Drums in the early 2000's, after finding few musicians in his locale of Sheffield had much interest in playing across the varied styles of music he was a fan of.

With an initial preference for (Post/)Punk, Thrash & everything Extreme Metal, but with an equal interest in the contrasting styles of 60s Psych-rock, 70's Prog, 80s funk, Rn'B/Soul & the "alternative" movements of the 90's, the wide spectrum of music on offer from peers living & departed, personally known or stranger, continues to influence & shape a drummer who believes genre limitations are only as restrictive as those any individual musician or listener imposes on themselves...

"Amedia represents the artistry of truly hand crafted, high quality, Turkish cymbals. Each cymbal, throughout the wide range on offer, exits the manufacturing process bearing the literal markings, tonalities and expressions formed by its makers tools that are undeniably distinct. No two cymbals are strictly identical, just as no 2 drummers playing can ever truly be identical. Amedia essentially offers each drummer the ability to create an original sonic palette in the cymbals they select for their setup. No other major brand has continued championing the important element of individual expression in its standard line(s). It's this that draws me to create my own sound with Amedia"

"Choosing the right stick can be a nightmare for many drummers out there. Theres simply so many options on the market these days, & there always seems to be something that did not satisfy me 100%. When I got the opportunity to visit Sweet Deal Drums to trial some sticks & tested out the Balbex Pro2's, 2BN's & Extreme's, I realised that something was immediately very right! They had a great grip, beautiful balance & their subtle diameter & length difference fit my needs across a variety of genres. Choose Balbex!"
